KHNP Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head: Lee Seyong) announced that “Hanul Unit 3, a Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant (OPR1000) with a pressurized water reactor and a capacity of 1 million kW, has achieved 5,000 days of trouble-free operation from July 25, 2008, to February 4, 2025, marking the first time for a domestic nuclear power plant.”

Trouble-free operation refers to operating the power plant continuously without shutdown from the time of system connection after planned preventive maintenance until system disconnection for the next planned preventive maintenance. This is an indicator representing safety, technology, and operational management.

Lee Seyong, Head of Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters, expressed his appreciation by saying, “I want to share the joy of this valuable achievement with the employees who did their best to reach 5,000 days of trouble-free operation,” and added, “We will share excellent cases and technologies with other power plants to ensure stable nuclear power plant operation, and we will do our best to widely promote the excellence of K-Nuclear Power.”
