The Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party will hold a "Economic Policy Advisory Group Launch Press Conference" at 11 a.m. on the 13th at the Kim Dae-jung Hall of the Daegu City Party.
The Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party announced that it has formed the "Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party Economic Policy Advisory Group" (headed by Kim Jae-hoon, Honorary Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance at Daegu University), composed of experts in five fields, and pledged to fulfill its responsibility as a policy party and a livelihood party that changes the future of Daegu and the lives of its citizens.
The advisory members by field are Professor Kim Jae-hoon (AI·Big Data, former Chair of Policy Planning at the National Balanced Development Committee), Visiting Professor Lee Geun-gi of Kyungpook National University (Small and Medium Enterprises and Self-Employment, former Advisory Member of the Presidential Policy Planning Committee), Professor Ahn Hyun-ho of Daegu University (University Policy and 2030 Youth, former Policy Advisory Member of the Ministry of Education), Professor Park Seung-hee of Yeungnam University (Culture and Arts, Advisory Member of Daegu Culture and Arts Promotion Agency), and Professor Kim Byung-guk of Daegu University (Tourism Resource Development, former Advisory Member of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).
Heo So, Chairperson of the Daegu City Party, said, "The Democratic Party of Korea has continuously strived for the development of Daegu. We have achieved major regional issues such as the Milan Project under the Kim Dae-jung administration, the relocation of public institutions under the Roh Moo-hyun administration, the passage of the TK New Airport Special Act under the Moon Jae-in administration, the promotion of the Moonlight Inland Railroad, attracting the National Robot Test Field, relocating Daegu’s water intake source, opening of Seodaegu Station, exemption from preliminary feasibility study for the Daegu Industrial Line, and development of the site behind the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office. However, the political bias in Daegu has rendered the political functions and roles that prepare a happy future for Daegu citizens powerless.”
The Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party stated, "Through the launch of the Economic Policy Advisory Group, we will present concrete visions and policies that change the future of Daegu and the lives of its citizens. We will transform ourselves into a capable policy party and livelihood party and be recognized by citizens as the alternative party of Daegu."
Kim Jae-hoon, head of the advisory group, said, “It was difficult for experts to officially serve as Democratic Party advisors in Daegu’s monopolistic political environment. However, due to the sincere request of the Daegu City Party, experts who have been teaching students and producing policies have participated with a sense of mission.”
The advisory group expressed, "Through diagnosing Daegu’s economic policies, we will advise on Daegu’s future industries, good jobs, culture and arts, and resolving imbalances among Daegu regions. In particular, we will prepare measures so that Daegu’s 2030 youth generation can have hope even in Daegu.”
The Democratic Party of Korea Daegu City Party plans to create empathy with citizens through special lectures on understanding Daegu and public policy hearings for Daegu citizens, starting with the launch of the Economic Policy Advisory Group.
