Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 12th that it has signed a supplementary agreement with the Bucheon Office of Education to promote the '2025 Bucheon Future Education Cooperation District Project.'
Based on the Future Education Cooperation District business agreement signed with the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education in 2023, the city will annually conclude supplementary agreements with the Bucheon Office of Education to operate detailed projects of the Bucheon Future Education Cooperation District.
Through the supplementary agreement, both parties set three main goals: ▲ an educational community that grows together through the activation of educational autonomy ▲ nurturing glocal future talents based on regional characteristics ▲ an educational community that grows harmoniously through community-linked education.

To this end, the city will invest a total budget of approximately 7.39 billion KRW, including about 4.55 billion KRW of city funds, to promote 18 detailed projects such as 'Bucheon Art Valley,' 'Customized Education for General High Schools,' and 'Our School with Colors.'
The city plans to operate various career and academic advancement programs linked to school curricula, centered on the Bucheon Future Education Center, utilizing local educational resources such as Our Village Experience, one-on-one career and academic consulting, and career fairs.
Additionally, as part of the educational expense projects, the city has allocated 7.785 billion KRW to support school facility openings, improve educational environments, provide uniforms for middle and high school students, and support Bucheon-Learn online education.
Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, stated, "We will actively promote various educational support projects so that schools and the local community can cooperate to help students realize their dreams and grow into future talents of the region," adding, "We will continue to collaborate with the Office of Education to realize Bucheon-style future education utilizing regional characteristics and educational resources."
