On the 12th, Representative Eo Gigu of the Democratic Party of Korea (Dangjin-si, Chungnam) announced that he had secured 7.924 billion won in national funding for the implementation of the '2025 Irrigation Facility Maintenance Project.'
The Irrigation Facility Maintenance Project aims to repair and reinforce aging or damaged irrigation facilities to prevent damage caused by natural disasters and to support stable farming activities.
The secured budget will be allocated as follows: 5.749 billion won for the water source facility project in six districts (Jeondae, Godae 2, Songak, Namsan, Daeho 2, Hapdeok 3) to address the aging of agricultural irrigation facilities such as reservoirs and to improve water resource utilization efficiency; 2.035 billion won for the maintenance of old and damaged waterways in three districts (Uil, Hapdeok 5, Songak 2); and 140 million won for the dredging project in one district (Sunseong) to expand reservoir storage capacity.
With this secured budget, the maintenance of agricultural infrastructure in the region and the repair and reinforcement of aging irrigation facilities for stable water supply will be actively promoted.
Representative Eo Gigu stated, "Since irrigation facilities are a key factor in strengthening agricultural competitiveness and ensuring the sustainability of rural areas, I will continue to do my best to secure budgets that reflect the voices of those in the agricultural field."
