Incheon Yeonsu-gu's 'Hanmaeum Park (Seonhak Urban Forest) Development Project' is expected to gain momentum as it has passed the review of the Central Urban Planning Committee.
According to the district on the 11th, the Hanmaeum Park development project involves creating an eco-friendly healing space for sports, culture, and leisure activities on 82,649㎡ of idle land at 216-3 Seonhak-dong, with a total project cost of 64.4 billion KRW, scheduled for completion by October.
This project entered the main track after passing the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's central investment review last year and receiving conditional approval at the Central Urban Planning Committee review on the 6th.
In particular, developing land within the greenbelt usually takes more than 1 year and 6 months through consultations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and review and reflection by the Central Urban Planning Committee, but the district focused on consultations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport from December last year, shortening the process by about 6 months.
Accordingly, the district plans to submit an action plan addressing the conditional items, such as ecological network linkage measures considering the surrounding environment and re-examination of the park entrance scale, to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and then proceed with procedures such as urban management plan and implementation plan approval.
A Yeonsu-gu official stated, "We will do our best to promptly promote the park development after faithfully supplementing the conditions presented by the Central Urban Planning Committee so that it becomes a landmark of the region."
