Pyeongtaek City Announces 'Village Community Project' Contest to Solve Local Issues

The project is conducted in stages: 'Seed Stage' for those just starting a village community, 'Growth Stage' for the second year, and 'Fruit Stage' for the third year. The support limits are ▲Seed Stage 2 million KRW ▲Growth Stage 5 million KRW ▲Fruit Stage 8 million KRW. This year, a new 'Planning Proposal Category' has been established to provide up to 10 million KRW in project funding.

Applications can be made by voluntary resident groups consisting of five or more members who reside in or have their living area within Pyeongtaek City. The target programs are community activity programs that solve and develop village issues in various areas such as childcare, education, elderly care, residential environment, and culture, based on residents' participation.

The city plans to select up to 30 communities through this year's application process. Document submissions will be accepted from the 20th to the 28th. To assist with this, the city will hold pre-briefing sessions on the 17th at Jangdang Workers' Welfare Center and on the 19th at Pyeongtaek Citizens' Space and the Pyeongtaek Social Economy & Village Community Support Center. For detailed information about the project, inquiries can be made to the Future Strategy Division Social Economy Team at Pyeongtaek City Hall or the Social Economy & Village Community Support Center.

Previously, the city supported 25 community activities through this project last year. Through this, the nation's first village archive, the 'Donggori Village Archive,' was opened, and in November last year, a festival involving various communities was also held.
