Investing 31 Billion KRW to Create 7,386 Senior Jobs
Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, announced on the 12th that it will strengthen support for the creation of new jobs for seniors in response to an aging society. Accordingly, the district will provide a total of 7,386 senior jobs with a budget of 31 billion KRW, an increase of 4 billion KRW compared to last year.
This year, in particular, the district focused on creating new jobs aimed at solving community issues and improving senior welfare.
The new projects include a senior pharmaceutical waste collection activation project, a "Smart Ddokddok" project that teaches smartphone usage, a senior center survey team project that inspects facilities and equipment at senior centers, and a neighborhood broadcasting promotion team (supporters) project to promote local festivals, among a total of 17 new initiatives.
Park Byungkyu, head of the district office, said, "We will strive to help seniors enjoy a better life and contribute to the local community by supporting their social activities."
