Customized College Admission Information
for High School Homeroom Teachers,
Prospective First-Year Students, and Parents
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is strengthening the career and college admission capabilities of teachers and parents ahead of the new high school academic year.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Acting Superintendent Choi Yunhong) will conduct a "New Academic Year College Admission Guidance Capacity Building Training" for about 1,500 prospective homeroom teachers of general high schools on the 14th, and hold a "Understanding College Admission and Preparation Methods Seminar" for 450 prospective first-year high school students and their parents on the 27th.
This event is designed to provide prospective high school homeroom teachers with college admission information and guidance directions to enhance their capabilities, while delivering college admission information to prospective first-year students and their parents.
The briefing sessions for prospective homeroom teachers in preparation for the new academic year will be held separately by grade. Prospective first-year homeroom teachers will meet at 3 p.m. in the Dow Hall of Dong-A University International Hall, prospective second-year homeroom teachers at 3 p.m. in the Seokdang Art Hall of Dong-Eui University International Hall, and prospective third-year homeroom teachers at 2:30 p.m. in the Global Convention Hall of Gyeongnam Information University Future Hall. During these sessions, customized college admission information and guidance strategies by grade will be shared. For first-year homeroom teachers, detailed explanations regarding changes related to the introduction of the 2022 revised curriculum will be provided.
The "Understanding College Admission and Preparation Methods Seminar," held at 7 p.m. on the 27th in the auditorium of the Busan Education Research and Information Center, will introduce participating students and parents to high school life for successful college admission. It will also provide information about the 2028 college admission system and guidance on preparation methods.
Those wishing to participate in the "Prospective First-Year Students and Parents Seminar" can apply on a first-come, first-served basis starting from 10 a.m. on February 18 through the popup window on the Busan Career and College Admission Support Center website.
Choi Yunhong, Acting Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This year’s college admissions are expected to see many changes, such as an increase in the number of admissions for advanced majors and non-major tracks, and mandatory reflection of school violence measures. I hope this seminar will greatly help teachers, students, and parents establish customized college admission strategies in preparation for the new academic year."
