Non-Taxation Period for Inherited Vehicle Deregistration Extended from 3 to 6 Months
Public Facility That Produced Masks Transformed into Snow-Melting Agent Workshop
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) selected and awarded '5 Excellent Cases of Proactive Administration in the Second Half of 2024' to promote district development and foster an active work culture. Every year, the district discovers excellent cases of proactive administration based on creative and professional work that contributes to improving residents' convenience in both the first and second halves of the year.
In the second half of last year, out of a total of 23 candidates, 5 cases were finally selected after a comprehensive evaluation of resident impact, the expertise of the person in charge, and the difficulty of the tasks.
The excellent cases included easing the non-taxation conditions for inheritance vehicle acquisition tax, operating a snow-melting agent workshop at the Gangseo-gu Vocational Rehabilitation Center, resolving defect disputes at the Our Neighborhood Care Center, constructing the Happy Local Self-Support Center, and creating a pedestrian-friendly environment in the underground passage at Balsan Station.
The 'Easing of Non-Taxation Conditions for Inheritance Vehicle Acquisition Tax' is a case that reduced taxpayers' burdens through legal amendments. Previously, if the inherited vehicle was old and no longer usable, the heir had to deregister it within 3 months to receive the non-taxation benefit, but due to practical limitations, deregistration within 3 months was difficult. Accordingly, the standard was eased to within 6 months.
The 'Operation of Snow-Melting Agent Workshop at Gangseo-gu Vocational Rehabilitation Center' is a case where, following the end of COVID-19 and the resulting decrease in mask sales revenue, the workshop was expanded to produce and sell snow-melting agents, creating new income. The 'Construction of the Happy Local Self-Support Center' was a case where the existing center was aging and posed accident risks, but by being selected for a self-support project activation contest, a necessary budget of 1 billion KRW was secured for relocation.
Other excellent cases included resolving defect disputes with the construction company regarding floor flooding damage at the Our Neighborhood Care Center and creating a safe pedestrian environment by removing illegal advertisements in the underground passage at Balsan Station.
The district provides benefits such as reward leave to public officials who promote proactive administration, and the selected excellent cases are produced and promoted as easy-to-understand card news for residents to encourage proactive administration. The selected excellent cases of proactive administration can be viewed on the district's official website.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “Proactive administration is essential to meet the diverse administrative needs of residents,” and added, “We will further strengthen the discovery and support of excellent cases to create a work environment that encourages active work.”
