Kim Seungnam, President of Gwangju Urban Corporation, attended the 'Handball Night' event hosted by the Korea Handball Federation at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul on the afternoon of the 11th.
This event brought together figures related to handball to share ideas for the development of the sport. The Gwangju Urban Corporation women's handball team was represented by President Kim Seungnam, Head Coach Oh Seil, and players Seo Ahru and Kim Geumjeong, among others.
Since establishing its handball team in 2010, the corporation has continuously supported it, helping it grow into a club representing Gwangju. The team achieved notable results by advancing to the handball regular league postseason for three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023.
In particular, this season, Gwangju Urban Corporation has reorganized its roster to focus on young and promising players, and is expected to lead the fast and agile style of Korean handball.
President Kim stated, "Handball has been a beloved sport for many people through competitions such as the Olympics, and it has established itself as one of the representative sports in Gwangju. The Gwangju Urban Corporation women's handball team will do its best to expand the base of handball and revitalize the league."
