On the 8th, Park gave a special lecture titled “If DJ Were Here Now: Park Jie-won's Suggestions for Korea” at the Grand Performance Hall of the Yeonggwang County Culture and Arts Center in South Jeolla Province. At the lecture, attended by about 300 residents, Park stated, “The greatest reform and innovation of our time is the resignation of Yoon Suk-yeol and a change of government,” emphasizing, “The next 100 days will determine the fate of the nation.”

He particularly stressed, “There will be no voting for forces sympathetic to rebellion in the next presidential election,” and added, “Not only Lee Jae-myung but also others in the Democratic Party must engage in policy competition and fierce rivalry to achieve a successful presidential victory.” He further emphasized the importance of participating in an early presidential election after the impeachment situation, saying, “For Honam as well, we must unite, fight, and win.”

On this day, Park also received an honorary citizenship certificate and an honorary county governor appointment letter from Yeonggwang. Jang Se-il, the governor of Yeonggwang County, welcomed him, saying, “It is a great fortune for the people of Yeonggwang that you have accepted the honorary citizenship in Yeonggwang, the birthplace of basic income.”

Park then attended the regular general meeting of MG Haenam Saemaeul Geumgo at the Haenam Culture and Arts Center, and listened to the voices of the field at an agricultural policy meeting with the Haenam, Wando, and Jindo Rural Leaders’ Associations. About 100 rural leaders from the three counties attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed various rural issues such as bank loans for returning farmers, shared agricultural warehouses, direct payments for forestry, reduction of rice production, and the issue of powdered rice. Park pointed out, “A rice price stabilization system for farmers suffering from price instability is urgently needed,” and added, “The government’s policy to reduce rice cultivation area must be preceded by sufficient explanation and compensation measures.”

Meanwhile, Park is also actively promoting the purchase of local specialties such as abalone and gim, saying, “The answers are on the ground, and by being out there, you can see the realities of rural and fishing communities.”
