Adjustment from Level 4 to Level 3
"Aims to Address Leadership and Other Challenges"
The rank of deputy heads in basic local governments classified as small cities with a population of less than 50,000 will be upgraded.
According to South Jeolla Province on the 11th, among the 22 basic local governments in South Jeolla, the rank of deputy heads in 10 regions with a population of less than 50,000 will be upgraded this year from level 4 (Director) to level 3 (Deputy Director General).
This measure aims to address internal difficulties, such as leadership issues, arising from the fact that the deputy head, who is the second in command within the organization, holds the same rank as department heads (level 4).
For example, Jangheung County Deputy Head Lee Cheonyeong was promoted to level 3 on the 2nd, and the rank of deputy head has also been upgraded to level 3 in Damyang, Boseong, Gangjin, Hampyeong, Jangseong, Wando, and Jindo, making a total of eight locations.
Additionally, Gokseong, Gurye, and Sinan are expected to complete the rank adjustment as soon as the ordinance revisions are finalized.
