On the 11th, the 9th class of the Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group, composed of spouses of Hyundai Steel Dangjin Steelworks employees, was launched.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Dangjin Steelworks Support Center PR Hall, attended by about 50 people, including volunteer group members and Hyundai Steel officials.

The Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group was founded in 2008 when employees' spouses came together with the intention of contributing to the local community by utilizing the knowledge and hobbies they had learned from cultural classes.

Since its establishment, the group has been carrying out consistent volunteer activities throughout the Dangjin area, establishing itself as a leading volunteer organization in the region.

The 9th class of the Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group consists of 40 employee spouses and will be active for about two years until December 2026.

The Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group not only continues its volunteer work but also participates in various activities.

On the first Wednesday of every month, they volunteer at the Dangjin Senior Welfare Center, and on the second Saturday, they regularly visit local nursing homes to provide volunteer services and performances.

In addition, they participate in educational donation projects, ice pack donations to traditional markets, and gift sharing with underprivileged neighbors as part of Dangjin Steelworks' community contribution activities.

Kim Mijeong, the group leader, stated, "I feel a great sense of responsibility to lead this 18-year-old volunteer group well," and added, "I will take the lead in practicing sharing, communicating with the local community, and helping more neighbors find happiness."

Meanwhile, since its founding, the Majungmul Housewives Volunteer Group has continued its sharing activities and has been recognized for its contributions, receiving 21 awards including the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award, National Assembly Member Award, Chungcheongnam-do Governor Award, and Dangjin Mayor Award.
