Ahead of the Busan Superintendent of Education by-election, over 300 senior figures in the Busan education community declared their support for preliminary candidate Kim Seok-jun on the 11th.
On this day, former Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Director Cheon Jeong-guk and other education officials participated in the declaration, announcing their support for candidate Kim Seok-jun for the prompt stabilization and greater development of Busan education.
Through the declaration of support, the senior members of the Busan education community emphasized, “Educational administration without a leader is experiencing confusion, and education is a long-term plan that must proceed in the right direction without wavering under any circumstances.”
They also stressed that since the candidate elected in the upcoming Busan Superintendent of Education by-election must immediately assume office, a proven candidate who requires no preparation or learning time is necessary.
The reasons they cited for supporting candidate Kim Seok-jun include ▲ eight years of experience leading Busan education and proven leadership ▲ predictable, rational, and democratic educational administration ▲ communication skills that listen to the voices of students, parents, and teachers ▲ and presenting a future education vision suited to the rapidly changing educational environment.
Referring to the fact that candidate Kim was a victim who lost in the previous superintendent election due to the opponent’s illegal election activities, they unanimously stated, “We must give him the opportunity to dedicate himself to Busan education through the by-election.”
Former Director Cheon Jeong-guk, who participated in the declaration of support, said, “We agreed that candidate Kim, who has experience and vision, must lead Busan education once again to prevent it from wavering.”
On the 10th, candidate Kim’s side announced that the Korea Sports Federation, an organization established to promote the development of recreational sports and activate sports, declared its support for candidate Kim Seok-jun. The Korea Sports Federation emphasized that candidate Kim is the right person to expand fairness and accessibility in physical education and provide lifelong sports opportunities to students.
