Lim Jong-ryong, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, Visits Subsidiaries to Emphasize Internal Controls

Lim Jong-ryong, Chairman of Woori Financial Group, visited all 14 subsidiaries on the 5th, 10th, and 11th of last month to reiterate his commitment to strengthening the group's internal control system and practicing ethical management.

This visit is part of the on-site management that Chairman Lim has continuously conducted every year since his inauguration in 2023. Especially this year, it was promoted with Chairman Lim's determination to realize the management goal of Woori Financial Group, "Trusted Woori Financial," and to firmly establish ethical management within the group.

During each visit, Chairman Lim examined the on-site situations, including risk factors faced by each subsidiary, and thoroughly inspected the overall status of internal controls. He placed special emphasis on this year’s core management policies of the group: △strengthening the internal control system △establishing an ethical corporate culture △practicing transparent ethical management.

Notably, the group’s Chief Compliance Officer (Vice President Jeong Gyu-hwang) accompanied the entire schedule, repeatedly emphasizing △innovation in internal controls △compliance with regulations by business sector △the importance of protecting financial consumers.

Chairman Lim stated, "For Woori Financial to become a comprehensive financial group more trusted by customers and the market this year, it is essential to meticulously advance the entire internal control system and firmly establish an ethical corporate culture. All executives and employees must approach their work with a sense of ethics and responsibility based on trust as financial professionals."

He continued, "As the first in the financial sector to implement the registration system for personal (credit) information of executives’ relatives, and with the group currently accelerating the implementation of internal control innovation measures, all group companies must consistently devote themselves to practicing ethical management with a strong will as one team," urging practical efforts to root ethical management.

Meanwhile, Woori Financial established the Ethics Management Office last November to oversee the group’s ethics policies and audit the management. Currently, it is making every effort to improve the internal control system and innovate corporate culture through △registration of personal (credit) information of executives’ relatives △strengthening the insider reporting system △diagnosing the ethical culture for all group employees.
