Applications Accepted at Ulsan Horticultural Cooperative and Seosaeng Agricultural Cooperative Until the 26th
On the 11th, Ulju-gun, Ulsan City announced that it will implement a support project for artificial pollination pollen in orchards by 2025 to produce high-quality Ulju pears.
This project is being promoted to resolve the poor fruit set phenomenon of Ulju pears caused by a lack of pollinator trees and decreased activity of pollinating insects. The total project cost is 156 million KRW, with 10% funded by the city, 40% by the county, and 50% by self-payment.
The project targets orchard farmers cultivating pears and kiwifruit with addresses in Ulsan City and farmland located in Ulju-gun. Farmers wishing to apply can submit their applications to the implementing bodies, Ulsan Horticultural Cooperative and Seosaeng Agricultural Cooperative, by the 26th.
An Ulju-gun official stated, “By supporting artificial pollination pollen, we aim to minimize fruit loss caused by reduced activity of pollinating insects due to abnormal temperatures during the flowering period,” adding, “We expect this to contribute to increased orchard production and high-quality agricultural products, thereby boosting farmers’ income.”
