Establishing a New Safety and Health Management Policy Immediately Upon Inauguration
Busan Port Authority (BPA) will establish a new safety and health management policy immediately upon the inauguration of its new president, Song Sang-geun.
The safety and health management policy established by BPA President Song Sang-geun includes the following key points: ▲ Compliance with laws to eradicate safety accidents ▲ Establishment of risk assessment and self-discipline prevention systems ▲ Promotion of a voluntary safety culture ▲ Implementation of health promotion activities ▲ Elimination of safety blind spots and enhancement of response capabilities ▲ Construction of a cooperative safety management system
This policy declares a shift to a more proactive and preemptive safety management system with the goal of Interdependent Safety, attracting attention from the port industry.
Additionally, President Song Sang-geun has specified the institution-wide direction of health promotion and the spread of safety culture, raising expectations that the organization will go beyond merely following regulations to foster an overall safety culture and a healthy working environment.
President Song Sang-geun plans to finalize the 'New Safety and Health Management Policy' in March after a joint labor-management process that thoroughly collects diverse opinions from workers.
President Song Sang-geun of BPA pledged, “We will do our best to prevent major accidents through a self-discipline prevention system and to raise the safety and health standards of Busan Port to the next level,” adding, “Safety is no longer optional but essential, and we will dedicate ourselves to creating a safe port where all executives, employees, and partners work together.”
