This agreement is the result of a process that began with the signing of a basic agreement in September of last year, followed by an initial meeting between labor and management and ten rounds of practical negotiations.
The collective agreement, consisting of a total of 108 articles and 6 supplementary provisions, covers a wide range of topics, including strengthening support for work-life balance and maternity protection, improving working conditions such as industrial safety and health, expanding labor education hours, and promoting employee health through medical check-ups.
In particular, it is noteworthy that this collective agreement was reached through smooth negotiations between labor and management, despite the challenging situation of the institution being without a director.
Since the first collective agreement was signed in 2021, the achievement of two consecutive agreements without any disputes is seen as the result of ongoing communication and mutual trust between labor and management.
Shin Jesu, acting director of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development, stated, "Although the process was not easy due to the vacancy in the director's position, we were able to achieve good results by listening to each other's positions and making mutual concessions. I expect that this collective agreement will not only improve working conditions but also serve as a new turning point for mutual growth between labor and management, making a significant contribution to the development and advancement of Korean medicine."
