The Suwon Southern Fire Station announced that it carried out special rescue training to prepare for winter water accidents over two days, from the 10th to the 11th, around the Hagwanggyo Reservoir area in Suwon.
This training focused on understanding the characteristics of winter inland water sites, mastering water rescue equipment, and conducting life-saving drills to ensure safe and prompt on-site response capabilities.

The main training contents included ▲ understanding the characteristics of winter inland water sites and securing personal safety ▲ emergency rescue diving procedures and diving under ice ▲ life-saving drills using ice rescue equipment, drawbags, and lifebuoys ▲ emergency response and mastery training for diving and water rescue equipment ▲ and safety accident prevention education before training.
A citizen who observed the training said, "In winter, I enjoy ice fishing and playing on the ice with my children, so seeing the fire station conducting training to prepare for winter accidents gives me peace of mind."
Go Young-joo, chief of the Suwon Southern Fire Station, said, "Winter water accidents have more variables compared to general water accidents due to temperature drops and ice," and promised, "We will do our best to protect citizens' safety through continuous understanding of site characteristics and rescue training."
