DirectorsTech, an AI-based video production solution company, announced on the 11th that it recorded a profit within one year of its establishment.
According to the audit results by an accounting firm on DirectorsTech's 2024 business performance, the company achieved sales of 5 billion KRW and an operating profit of 1.5 billion KRW.
Generally, AI companies require massive initial investment costs for technology development. Considering that few generative AI-based companies have secured profits, this achievement is an exceptional case in the industry.
The rapid growth of DirectorsTech is analyzed to be due to the synergy between its parent company, DirectorsCompany’s creative capabilities and network, and the global network of co-founder Morgan Mao. Based on this, the company was able to secure over 500 domestic and international brands as clients, including luxury brands such as the LVMH Group, Chanel, and BVLGARI.
Additionally, the 100% acquisition of SKAI Works, a 3D-based generative AI video production company founded by Morgan Mao in 2023, was also effective. SKAI Works possesses unique AI video production technology that won the LVMH Innovation Award in 2024. By acquiring this company, DirectorsTech was able to quickly secure world-class AI technology.
Not only technological capability but also the establishment of a strategic B2B business model was a key factor. CEO Jaecheol Lee, who has experience in tech commerce companies and overseas private equity (PE) management, and co-founder Morgan Mao, who has experience in operating AI technology companies and serial entrepreneurship, collaborated to quickly understand industry needs and design a B2B model that secures high profitability, which led to this success.
Going forward, DirectorsTech plans to provide more precise AI advertising solutions by collaborating with its affiliate SKAI Worldwide, which possesses a 3D data library and hybrid data analysis technology, not only in advertising production but also in related fields. Based on this, the company aims to actively target the global market and achieve sales of 20 billion KRW by 2025.
Morgan Mao, co-founder of DirectorsTech, stated, "DirectorsTech is not simply a company that produces AI advertisements but a technology solution company that helps brands deliver their messages more effectively." He added, "The reason we were able to achieve meaningful results in a short time is that we deeply understand the industry and provide AI technology that can be connected to tangible business outcomes."
Jaecheol Lee, CEO of DirectorsTech, said, “The AI-based advertising market is still in its early stages, and as technology advances, greater opportunities will open up.” He continued, “In 2025, we will develop more precise AI advertising solutions and expand collaboration with global brands and key industries to lead the market.”
