This performance, conducted by guest conductor Choi Ye-ji, is expected to present a unique stage and invite the audience into a diverse musical world.
The program includes Brahms' "May Night (Die Mainacht, Liebeslieder Walzer, Op. 52)" in the first part, conveying the profound resonance of Romantic choral music and the vitality of spring, followed by intense rhythms from traditional African and South American music. In the second part, timeless classics such as "Bridge over Troubled Water" and "Yesterday" will be performed, along with Korean sentimental songs like "Gohyang-ui Norae" and "Seomjipagi," creating an even richer stage.
This concert draws heightened anticipation with guest conductor Choi Ye-ji at the helm. After concluding over 20 years of activity in the United States, Choi Ye-ji joined Ewha Womans University in September 2023 as a professor of vocal music and choral conducting. Her delicate musical interpretation and profound expressiveness stand out in seamlessly connecting various styles of music.
Professor Choi plans to maximize the individuality and emotional impact of each piece. This special performance, where classical, folk, pop, and Korean art songs harmonize on one stage, is attracting significant attention.
Tickets for the concert are currently available for reservation on the Chuncheon City Arts Troupe website. Ticket reservations can only be made through the Chuncheon City Arts Troupe website, and inquiries regarding group reservations or other matters should be directed to the Chuncheon City Arts Troupe Secretariat.
