Korea Investment Trust Management announced on the 11th that the net asset value of the ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) has grown fivefold in about seven months.
According to the Korea Exchange, the ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF recorded a net asset value of 68.9 billion KRW as of the closing price on the 10th, growing more than five times from 13.7 billion KRW at the end of June last year.
The rapid growth is attributed to its excellent returns, which attracted individual investors' choices. In particular, individual investors consecutively net purchased this ETF for 20 trading days throughout December 2024. The net purchase amount by individual investors reached 8.6 billion KRW. This year as well, individual investors have net purchased the ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF worth 7.1 billion KRW up to the previous day.
The ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF posted returns of 13.69%, 47.46%, and 71.86% over the past 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year, respectively. Last year, it recorded a return of 84.02%, ranking it among the top 5 domestic listed ETFs in terms of returns.
The ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF invests by selecting the top 10 'bestseller' U.S. stocks most purchased, traded, and held by domestic investors, including individuals and institutions. To ensure reliability, the selection is based on domestic investors' foreign securities investment data provided by the Korea Securities Depository.
The ETF’s distinguishing feature is that when stocks have the same score during evaluation, net purchase settlement amounts are prioritized. On the 11th, the ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF included Palantir, an artificial intelligence (AI) software company ranked third in net purchase settlement amount by domestic investors over the past 3 months (630.46 million USD), with a 27.29% weighting. This is the largest proportion among 58 domestic listed ETFs that include Palantir.
Major holdings of the ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF include ▲Tesla (16.56%) ▲Broadcom (14.85%) ▲MicroStrategy (11.83%) ▲NVIDIA (11.04%) ▲Amazon.com (3.92%) ▲Apple (3.79%) ▲Alphabet (3.63%).
Nam Yong-su, Head of ETF Management at Korea Investment Trust Management, said, "The ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF quickly grew in size by gaining individual investors' trust based on strong performance last year. Since this ETF reflects the latest data, investors can avoid FOMO and also avoid dissatisfaction from late purchases."
The ACE U.S. Stock Bestseller ETF is a performance dividend-type product, and past returns do not guarantee future returns. Additionally, investors should be cautious as principal loss may occur depending on management results.
