Daejeon City announced that it will actively promote the "2025 Hydrogen Electric Vehicle Supply Project" to improve air quality.
This year, a total of 249 vehicles will be supplied, with 224 allocated to citizens and corporations, and 25 reserved for vulnerable groups and families with multiple children. A subsidy of 32.5 million KRW will be provided per vehicle.
Eligible applicants are citizens aged 18 or older who have resided in Daejeon for at least 30 days prior to the application date, as well as corporations, businesses, and organizations with offices located in Daejeon as of the application date.
To apply for the subsidy, applicants must sign a purchase contract at any Hyundai Motor Company dealership designated by the Ministry of Environment as a hydrogen vehicle manufacturer and seller, and then submit the purchase support application form along with the required supporting documents.
The city will review the documents and grant subsidy eligibility in the order of the purchase contract dates.
Until last year, the city provided subsidies for 1,761 hydrogen electric vehicles, and as of February, it operates nine hydrogen charging stations (Hakhadong, Daeseongdong, Sangseodong, Sindaedong, Jawondong, Gapdong, Jungchondong, Gudodong, Samjeongdong).
Oh Jaeyeol, Director of Energy Policy at Daejeon City, said, "We will improve air quality by expanding the supply of hydrogen electric vehicles and establish a sustainable foundation for the hydrogen economy."
