Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that it is operating the "Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Management System," which allows victims of jeonse fraud to apply for victim determination online and check the notification of results.
Previously, victims of jeonse fraud had to prepare related documents and visit Gyeonggi Province or the relevant local government office in person to submit the application form for victim determination in order to urgently apply for auction, suspension, or deferment. However, with the introduction of this system, such inconveniences have been resolved, enabling easy online application and the ability to check the processing status.
The service can be used after signing up on the Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Management System (https://jeonse.kgeop.go.kr). Applicants enter details of the jeonse fraud and the landlord’s deceptive acts, and upload the necessary documents electronically. The progress of the application is notified via text message, and applicants can check the status anytime through the system and print the decision notification or notice.
Additionally, a "User Manual" is provided on the website for easy guidance, and a call center (1600-9640) staffed with professional counselors is also in operation.
Jo Yong-ik, Mayor of Bucheon, said, "By allowing victims of jeonse fraud to apply easily online, swift victim determination and support have become possible. We will continue to do our best to alleviate housing insecurity for victims of jeonse fraud and provide meticulous support."
