The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education held a discussion forum on the 10th at the Suwon Gwanggyo Southern Office of Education to review the achievements of the policy purchase system.
The policy purchase system is a system designed to promote cooperation and a culture of participation within the educational community for the advancement of Gyeonggi education policies. It was officially introduced starting with the enactment of the "Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Policy Purchase System Operation Ordinance" in July 2023, followed by the launch of the integrated platform "ePolicy Market" in February 2024.
Over the past year, the Office of Education adopted a total of 63 proposals, combining freely submitted policy proposals and contest proposals on specific topics. Among the adopted proposals, 48 have been reflected in actual policies and are being implemented, and 47 received commendations and awards from the Superintendent of Education.
At the forum, teachers whose proposals were adopted and policy purchase supporters participated as panelists to share opinions from the school field.

The forum proceeded in the following order: ▲Evaluation of one year’s achievements ▲Potential for expansion as a democratic policy participation communication channel ▲Development direction as a support measure for teachers’ growth to expand public education ▲Perceptions of the policy purchase system in the field and ways to strengthen promotion.
Based on the opinions gathered at the forum, the Office of Education plans to expand and improve the policy purchase system in 2025 by actively discovering field-oriented policy tasks and supporting teachers’ roles as policy ‘prosumers’ to strengthen a culture of proposal participation and communication.
Seo Hye-jung, Policy Planning Officer at the Office of Education, stated, "We will promote the policy purchase system as a catalyst to discover necessary ideas and excellent content from schools, reflect them in education policies, and disseminate them," adding, "We will provide better education by reflecting the voices of students, parents, teachers, and Gyeonggi residents."
