Remodeling Completed for Bohun Hall... A Newly Created Space for Veterans' Families
First-Floor Lobby and Outdoor Community Rest Area Established to Strengthen Communication with Local Residents
The Bohun Hall located in Myeonmok 3·8-dong, Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) has completed its renovation and will hold a completion ceremony on the 13th.
This project was carried out to improve the aging facilities and enhance the welfare of veterans' families, focusing on providing a more convenient and comfortable environment for national merit recipients and their families who have dedicated themselves to the country and local community.
The Bohun Hall, with a total floor area of 1,328㎡ spanning from basement level 1 to the 4th floor above ground, has been used as a communication and resting space for veterans' families for about 15 years since its completion in December 2009. However, due to facility aging, the need for repair and renovation to improve safety and user convenience has been continuously raised. Accordingly, the district office carried out a full renovation of both interior and exterior facilities over about one year starting from January 2024.
The newly renovated Bohun Hall is equipped with facilities such as ▲reorganized offices for veterans' organizations ▲a large auditorium ▲a bathhouse ▲a fitness room ▲and a reception area. In particular, the first-floor lobby and outdoor community rest area have been newly created to open the space for use not only by veterans' families but also by local residents. Through this, it is expected to activate exchanges among veterans' families and facilitate smoother communication with the local community.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Bohun Hall is a precious space for those who have dedicated themselves to the nation, and it is meaningful that we can provide a more comfortable environment for veterans' families through this remodeling. We will continue to spare no effort to support the welfare improvement of national merit recipients and their families.”
Installation and Operation of 33 Fine Dust Alert Devices in Dongdaemun-gu for Rapid Air Quality Information
Full Effort to Implement Strengthened Reduction Measures During High Concentration Fine Dust Period from December to March
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 11th that it has installed and is operating 33 fine dust alert devices to enable residents to easily check fine dust concentrations in real time and respond effectively.
The fine dust alert electronic boards installed throughout Dongdaemun-gu display fine dust concentrations in real time, allowing residents to intuitively understand the fine dust status. Through this, residents can protect their respiratory health by refraining from going out or taking preventive measures such as wearing masks when fine dust levels are high.
Additionally, Dongdaemun-gu is implementing the 6th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Plan until March to prepare for high concentration fine dust occurrences and is promoting strengthened measures to reduce fine dust.
Main measures include ▲focused management of air pollution emission facilities and construction sites ▲15% reduction in energy use in high energy-consuming buildings ▲strengthened road dust cleaning, among others.
Recently, indoor air quality ventilation systems have been supplied to eight daycare centers and elderly care facilities to improve indoor air quality and further protect the health of vulnerable residents.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will do our best to improve air quality effectively and protect the health and safety of residents through strengthened reduction measures during the high concentration fine dust period.”
Last year, Dongdaemun-gu pursued various air environment-related policies and projects aiming to become a carbon-neutral city and was selected as a 'Good Air City,' receiving the highest award, the Minister of Environment Award.
