According to the police internal network (Field Vitality Center), a post titled "No principles or standards in high-ranking police personnel appointments, a power play. Is this an organization or a mess?" was uploaded the previous afternoon.
The author criticized, "Look at the recent high-ranking police appointments. From Senior Superintendent to Commissioner General in just three years. This is a structure where a person who has not devoted themselves to the police organization but has moved between the Presidential Office and power agencies to curry favor with the administration is rapidly promoted." They added, "The irrational, absurd, and unfair promotion system that is eating away at the police organization must be thoroughly reformed."
Acting Commissioner Park was appointed to key positions such as the personnel verification team of the Presidential Transition Committee and the National Situation Room of the Presidential Office under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, followed by Director of the Police Intelligence Bureau at the National Police Agency and Director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
It was revealed that Acting Commissioner Park made several phone calls with Police Commissioner General Jo Ji-ho, Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min, and Director of the Police Security Bureau Im Jeong-ju shortly after the declaration of the December 3 martial law.
