Seoul Songdo Hospital Chairman Lee Jonggyun Donates to Chosun University Development Fund Chairman Jongkyun Lee of Seoul Songdo Hospital donated 100 million won in development funds for the students of Chosun University College of Medicine. Provided by Chosun University

Chosun University announced on the 10th that Lee Jongkyun, Chairman of Seoul Songdo Hospital, has donated 100 million KRW as a development fund for students of Chosun University College of Medicine.


The donation ceremony for the development fund was held on the afternoon of the 7th at the Blue Room of the main building of Chosun University. The event was attended by Lee Jongkyun, Chairman of Seoul Songdo Hospital; Kang Yunseok, Vice Chairman of Seoul Senior Star Tower; Park Youngjin, Director of the Management Office; Jung Byungtae, Head of Headquarters; Kim Choonseong, President of Chosun University; Jeon Jeyeol, Vice President; Ahn Youngjun, Dean of the College of Medicine; and Kim Hyunwoo, Director of External Cooperation.


Chairman Lee graduated from Chosun University College of Medicine in the second class and has established a world-class medical platform in the field of colorectal and anal diseases since opening Seoul Songdo Hospital in 1981.


In 1998, he founded Seoul Senior Star Tower, the first urban-type senior town in Korea, in various locations across the metropolitan area. Recently, he has also developed Well Park City in Gochang, Jeonbuk, taking responsibility for the well-being of the elderly population.


Since 2014, Chairman Lee has donated a total of 316.99 million KRW to Chosun University, including contributions for the construction of the 50th Anniversary Hall of the College of Medicine, support for dormitory fees for Mongolian trainees, and development funds for the College of Medicine, including this latest donation.


Chairman Lee stated, "It is an honor to be able to contribute to the development of my alma mater," and added, "I will continue to strive to support the cultivation of future generations."


President Kim Choonseong said, "We will do our best to educate students, inheriting your affection for your alma mater," and added, "We will make efforts so that the university does not remain confined to the campus but works together with the local community."
