Airrain (CEO Ha Sung-yong), the only domestic company specializing in gas separation membrane solutions, announced its provisional performance results for last year through a public disclosure.
According to the performance report released by Airrain, last year's sales amounted to 24.5 billion KRW, marking a 50% increase compared to the same period the previous year. During the same period, operating profit and net profit reached 1.6 billion KRW and 1.7 billion KRW respectively, achieving a 554% growth and a successful turnaround to profitability compared to the previous year.
The main factors behind the strong performance include robust exports of the company's core product, gas separation membranes, and revenue recognition from the completion of various ongoing projects.
In particular, the increase in exports of gas separation membrane modules to China significantly contributed to Airrain's overall performance improvement. Currently, the gas separation membrane modules exported to China are primarily supplied to operators in the coal and gas industries, playing a crucial role in preventing explosions and fires that may occur during coal mining and gas processing operations. Products mass-produced with Airrain's advanced technology ensure both safety and efficiency, and demand is expected to grow not only in the Chinese market but also globally.
Moreover, the company successfully completed the biogas upgrading project and the CO2 capture phased project, achieving both economic results and carbon emission reduction effects simultaneously.
These two projects are key examples demonstrating Airrain's technological capabilities. The biogas upgrading project is an eco-friendly initiative that refines biogas extracted from organic waste into methane of city gas quality, reducing dependence on fossil fuels while promoting the use of sustainable energy resources. Additionally, the CO2 capture project effectively captures carbon dioxide generated during industrial processes, minimizing environmental impact. This technology is an important means to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from industrial activities, improve energy efficiency, and contribute to climate change response.
These projects have helped Airrain establish a leading position in the advanced environmental technology sector. Furthermore, they serve as major references enabling the company to pursue various projects with global partners, which is expected to facilitate the company’s diverse business expansion and growth.
Ha Sung-yong, CEO of Airrain, stated, “The company is doing its best to achieve continuous growth and performance improvement by expanding the application areas of gas separation membranes in the global market,” adding, “In the future, we will broaden our business fields to include global biogas plants as well as shipbuilding and marine equipment, aiming to become an innovative global energy solution company that enhances environmental protection and energy efficiency.”
Meanwhile, the company announced in January that it had significantly expanded the hollow fiber production line at its headquarters in Ochang, Chungbuk, strengthening production efficiency and market responsiveness.
