The Gimhae City Western Youth Center, which will support the healthy growth and dreams of youth in the Gimhae region of Gyeongnam, has opened its doors.
On the 8th, Gimhae City announced that it held the opening ceremony of the Western Youth Center attended by Mayor Hong Taeyong, local members of the National Assembly, Gimhae City council members, youth representatives, and about 250 parents.

The Gimhae City Western Youth Center is the second youth cultural center built in the region in 21 years since the construction of the central district’s Gusan-dong Gimhae Youth Center (Youth Culture House) in 2004.
Located in the western district of Jangyu, this facility was built with a total project cost of 2.7 billion KRW and consists of three floors above ground and one basement floor. It operates as a complex cultural space that helps youth grow through creative and proactive activities.
The center is composed of rest areas, activity spaces, and program rooms.
▲Rest areas include a first-floor book cafe and lounge cafe, Dream STEM, and lounges on the second and third floors ▲Activity spaces include a dance room, band room, e-sports room, karaoke room, sports activity area, and study cafe on the second floor.
▲Program rooms include a workshop, cooking experience room, party room, club room, lecture room, and multipurpose room.
The city is currently conducting various programs for youth based on the diverse spaces of the center during the pilot operation period.
▲'New Experience' programs include VR content experiences, brick coding (coding with LEGO), and HADO (AR dodgeball) ▲'Healthy Vacation' programs include K-POP cover dance, beginner drum lessons, oil pastel drawing, three types of baking, and espresso coffee extraction ▲'New Semester Preparation' programs include proper handwriting and science experiments.

Mayor Hong said, “Youth are the future and treasure of Gimhae City,” and added, “I hope the Gimhae Western Youth Center will establish itself as a space that nurtures the dreams and passion of young people.”
He also promised, “We will continue to provide ongoing interest and support so that youth can have various experiences and enjoy many opportunities at the center.”
He continued, “The Western Youth Center is not just a facility but a platform where youth can gain confidence and take on challenges,” and added, “We will continue to invest and support steadily for the happiness and growth of young people.”
