'Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi' Service Improved
Up to 120,000 Won Support Per Infant
Applications Open Starting on the 24th
The 'Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi' policy, which allows comfortable outings with children using taxis equipped with car seats, has been improved.
On the 10th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi service has been improved and applications will be accepted through the Mongttang Information Universal Key website starting from the 24th. The Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi system enables the use of large vans equipped with car seats as taxis for convenient outings with babies under 24 months who require a lot of luggage. It started in May 2023 and provides 100,000 won worth of points per infant. In 2023, 35,029 people used the service in 16 autonomous districts, and last year, when expanded to all districts, 55,993 people used it.
Based on operational experience so far, the city prepared service improvement plans reflecting user requests. First, this year, the number of operators increased to two, Tada and Papa, allowing users to choose the company. Previously, a separate reservation was required to use a newborn car seat, but from this year, it has been unified to a product usable for all ages under 24 months.

Additionally, all users receive an extra 5,000 won in points, and if all accumulated points are used within three months, they can receive another 5,000 won. Families with multiple children and single-parent families receive an additional 10,000 won in points. Combining all added benefits, up to 120,000 won in points can be received per infant.
The application process has also been simplified. Previously, to receive taxi points, a resident registration certificate had to be registered in the taxi application (app), but from this year, applications can be made on Mongttang Information Universal Key without any separate documents. The application period is until November 30, and points can be used until December 15. Parents, grandparents, or relatives within the third degree of kinship of infants under 24 months can apply, and after qualification is confirmed at the local community service center, the operator pays the points. The process takes about 12 days, and actual rides will be available from the 4th of next month. However, the service can only be used when accompanied by an infant.
Kim Seon-soon, Director of the Women and Family Office of Seoul City, explained, "As the Seoul Mom and Dad Taxi enters its third year of operation, we have improved the project contents such as increasing the number of operators, providing additional points for families with multiple children and single-parent families, and simplifying the application process to make outings comfortable for caregivers with children." She added, "We will continue to consider the perspective of caregivers and prepare policies accordingly."
