A man in his 30s disguised a toy gun wrapped in black plastic as a "pistol" and attempted to rob a bank but was subdued by customers and bank employees, resulting in a failed robbery.
On the 10th at 10:58 a.m., the Busan Gijang Police Station announced that they had arrested Mr. A, who committed a robbery at a bank in Ilgwang-eup, Gijang-gun, in the act.
According to the police, Mr. A is accused of putting an animal-shaped toy water gun in a plastic bag to disguise it as a pistol, forcing bank customers outside, and threatening bank employees to put all the 50,000 won bills into a suitcase he brought.
At the time, a man in his 50s who came to conduct banking business snatched the plastic bag and struggled with Mr. A. Bank employees joined in to subdue Mr. A and then called 112.
The police are investigating the motive for the crime after taking custody of Mr. A. The Gijang Police Station plans to present a letter of appreciation to the bank customer who played a significant role in apprehending the suspect.
