Dongkook Pharmaceutical has launched a new product, 'OraShield Spray,' under its specialized stomatitis treatment brand 'ORA'군.

OraShield Spray is an adhesive transparent wound dressing that protects and aids the healing of oral wounds or wounds with minimal exudate. Its main ingredients are polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), propylene glycol, potassium sorbate, and calcium chloride. The polyvinylpyrrolidone component binds with water (body fluids) and adheres to the wound surface, forming a thin protective film that shields the affected area from external irritation. Potassium sorbate provides antifungal effects, serving as an auxiliary sterilizing agent.

The product comes in a spray form for easy application and, unlike strongly acidic sterilizing and disinfecting products, causes less pain or irritation to the affected area. Additionally, due to its mechanism of forming a protective film on the wound, it can be used even when stomatitis occurs in areas frequently in contact with teeth or prosthetics. Since it is not absorbed by the body, it can be used with minimal irritation even when stomatitis occurs over a wide area during chemotherapy. When using, spray onto the affected area and allow it to dry for 1 minute without saliva contact to ensure the protective film forms well. Avoid eating or drinking for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour afterward.
