Yeongdeok-gun Implements Extended Nighttime Pediatric and Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinics

Establishing a Medical Cooperation System
to Overcome Low Birth Rates and Strengthen Essential Healthcare

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is implementing the ‘ONE-hour Medical Service System Establishment Project’ starting this year to provide high-quality essential medical care promptly through cooperation with medical institutions, enabling pediatric and obstetric-gynecological consultations within one hour.

This project aims to establish a community-centered medical cooperation system to overcome low birth rates and strengthen essential medical services. Yeongdeok-gun will conduct extended evening consultations in pediatrics and obstetrics-gynecology through collaboration with Yeongdeok Asan Hospital.

The extended evening consultations at Yeongdeok Asan Hospital will operate twice a week, every Monday and Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM starting on the 24th of this month, and nearby pharmacies will also extend their hours simultaneously to dispense prescribed medications.

The county expects this project to greatly improve access to essential medical services, provide timely consultation opportunities, and contribute significantly to encouraging childbirth and addressing the low birth rate issue.

County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol stated, “Through this project, I hope the local children, as well as mothers and babies, can enjoy more convenient and prompt medical services,” adding, “We will establish a constructive cooperative system with Yeongdeok Asan Hospital, a pillar of local medical services, and prepare various measures to provide better medical services to our residents.”
