"I Felt Disillusioned with the People Power Party for Not Even Giving Me a Chance"

Former Chungnam Provincial Council Member Kim Kwangman Announces Candidacy for Asan Mayoral By-election with Jayu Tongildang Kwangman Kim, a prospective candidate for the by-election of Asan Mayor for Free Unification Party, is making a declaration of candidacy at the briefing room of Asan City Hall on the 10th.

Kim Kwangman, the prospective candidate for the Asan mayoral by-election from the Free Unification Party, announced his candidacy for the upcoming April 2 by-election at a briefing room in Asan City Hall on the 10th.


Kim stated, "I have studied to become mayor for 18 years, but I felt disillusioned with the People Power Party for not even giving me a chance," and added, "I will complete my registration as a preliminary candidate within this week."


He continued, "Lee Gyosik, Yoo Gijun, and Kim Jingu, who had expressed their intention to run as members of the People Power Party, are also expected to join my election campaign committee after leaving the party," and emphasized, "I will not form an alliance with the People Power Party candidate in this election."


Meanwhile, Kim previously served as a member of the 4th Asan City Council and the 7th Chungnam Provincial Council.


This by-election is being held as former Asan Mayor Park Kyunggui of the People Power Party lost his position after being sentenced to a fine of 15 million won for violating the Public Official Election Act.
