Netflix's 'Slowly but Surely': Directed by Lee Yoon-jung
Starring Kim Seol-hyun, Cha Seung-won, Lee Ha-nee, and More
Actors Song Hye-kyo and Gong Yoo will collaborate in a new work by writer Noh Hee-kyung. On the 10th, Netflix announced that Song Hye-kyo, Gong Yoo, Kim Seol-hyun, Cha Seung-won, Lee Ha-nee, and others will appear in 'Slowly but Surely,' written by Noh.
'Slowly but Surely' is set against the backdrop of the Korean entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s. It depicts the growth story of those who had nothing but threw themselves wholeheartedly, dreaming of shining success. Song Hye-kyo plays Min-ja, who developed a strong inner self after experiencing many hardships in her childhood. While living a tough life, she spots an opportunity in the Korean music industry and boldly throws herself into it.
Dong-gu, who grew up with Min-ja and later enters the music industry with her, is played by Gong Yoo. Min-hee, who has a love-hate relationship with Min-ja, is portrayed by Kim Seol-hyun; Cha Seung-won takes on the role of Gil-yeo, the era's top composer; and Lee Ha-nee plays Yang-ja, Min-hee's mother who dreams of becoming a singer.
The director's chair is held by Lee Yoon-jung, who directed 'Coffee Prince' and 'Cheese in the Trap.' The release date is yet to be determined.
