Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu denied allegations of involvement in the death of MBC weathercaster the late Oh Yo-anna and directly confronted those who left malicious comments about him.

Recently, the YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' posted claims that Jang Sung-kyu was an accomplice in Oh Yo-anna's death. They directed comments at Jang Sung-kyu, saying, "Do you not feel even a trace of guilt?" and "If you have any conscience, go apologize to Oh Yo-anna's bereaved family immediately." In response, Jang left a comment for Kim Se-ui, the head of Garosero Research Institute, stating, "I am trying to respect the way Se-ui hyung lives his life. However, if the facts are corrected, I kindly ask for a correction report," and added, "I would appreciate it if you could tell me who the MBC employee was that made false reports over the phone."

Additionally, when a netizen criticized him on his YouTube video for defending a certain weathercaster, Jang responded, "If you keep falling for false provocations, you will die. You know what I mean." He also expressed his frustration with comments such as, "I was close with Anna, so please don't hate too much," and "This whole situation is sad."

Earlier, on the 5th, Jang Sung-kyu posted on his social media, "I am sorry that I could only mourn in my heart until now after learning about the late's news belatedly," and added, "Although late, I hope the late's grievances are resolved so that they can rest in peace there, and that the bereaved family finds comfort. If I can be of help, I will do my best." He further explained, "When my name was first mentioned, there were inaccuracies that upset me, but compared to the pain of the deceased and the family, I judged it to be a trivial pain and chose to remain silent without correcting it."

He continued, "Afterwards, more netizens interpreted my silence as an admission, which increased the number of malicious comments. There were even malicious comments about my family," and lamented, "To fulfill my role as a protector, I limited the ability to comment, but the severity increased." He stated, "I believe it is the wrong order to try to resolve my small grievances before the late's grievances are resolved," but pleaded, "I humbly ask that malicious comments about my family be refrained from until everything is resolved."

Meanwhile, Oh Yo-anna took her own life in September last year, but the news was only revealed in December of the same year. Subsequently, a media outlet reported that the late was bullied by fellow weathercasters, during which Jang Sung-kyu's name was mentioned.
