Gyeonggi Province will carry out a small-scale multi-family housing repair support project at a total of 194 locations this year.
On the 10th, Gyeonggi Province announced that starting this year, the support targets have been expanded across the entire province, not limited to specific areas, to include not only existing old single-family houses but also small-scale multi-family housing such as multi-unit houses and row houses.
The small-scale old housing repair support project, along with the existing single-family house repair support project, provides up to 16 million KRW for repair and replacement costs of worn-out facilities such as rooftop waterproofing, painting/coating, exterior wall and road crack repairs, and fire extinguishing equipment in common areas of small-scale old multi-family housing with fewer than 30 households and over 15 years old.
If the interior of the household is in poor condition, up to 5 million KRW is supported for interior repair costs.
Previously, through the single-family house repair support project, repair costs of up to 12 million KRW were provided for single-family houses over 20 years old located in declining old downtown areas or areas where New Town projects were canceled.
Starting this year, based on the related ordinance revised in May last year, small-scale multi-family housing over 15 years old has been included as support targets. The project target areas have also been expanded from the existing declining old downtown areas or New Town cancellation areas to the entire province.
The support targets will be selected by each city and county, and applications can be made to the department in charge of the housing repair project in the respective city or county.
By searching for ‘housing repair’ on the Gyeonggi Province website, it is easy to find contact information for the desired area.
Kim Tae-su, Director of the Urban Regeneration Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "There is no regional distinction, and repairs are supported not only for the common areas of small-scale multi-family housing but also for the exclusive interior parts of households, so good responses are expected from residents with poor living conditions."
