"Squid Game" had previously won trophies at this awards ceremony in 2022 with Season 1. At that time, it received the Best Foreign Language Series award and Best Actor (Lee Jung-jae). This recent win is significant as it is the first award Season 2 has received at a major American awards show since it faced disappointment at last month's Golden Globes. The CCA, which organizes the Critics Choice Awards, is an organization comprising over 600 broadcast and film critics from the United States and Canada, who annually evaluate the quality of works and actors' performances to present awards.
