The cold wave that has lasted for nearly a week since 'Ipchun' will continue on Monday, the 10th, but will gradually ease from the afternoon of Tuesday, the 11th.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 9th, the morning low temperature on the 10th will range from -15°C to -2°C, with snow expected in some areas, mainly along the Jeolla West Coast, until the morning. The daytime high temperature will be between 0°C and 7°C.

The wind will blow somewhat strongly, making the wind chill temperature even lower. With snow accumulated in most parts of the country, many places will have icy roads or frozen patches on the streets.

Although the country will be mostly clear on this day, the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, Jeolla region, and Jeju Island will be mostly cloudy until the afternoon. Rain or snow will fall in Jeju Island until the morning, and occasional snow will fall until the next morning in the Jeonnam West Coast, Chungnam West Coast, northern inland Chungnam, Chungbuk, and Jeonbuk West Coast.

The expected snowfall from the 9th to the 10th is about 1 cm in the Chungnam West Coast, Jeonnam West Coast, Jeonbuk West Coast, and mid-mountainous and mountainous areas of Jeju Island, and less than 1 cm in Sejong, northern inland Chungnam, and Chungbuk. The expected precipitation during the same period is about 1 mm in the Chungnam West Coast, Jeonnam West Coast, and Jeonbuk West Coast, less than 1 mm in Sejong, northern inland Chungnam, and Chungbuk, and less than 5 mm in Jeju Island.

Strong winds with instantaneous gusts exceeding 15 m/s are expected mainly along the coasts, mountainous areas, and Jeju Island, so caution is needed for facility management and safety accidents. Until the night of the 9th, very strong winds of 9 to 16 m/s and very high waves of 1.5 to 4.0 m will occur in the outer seas of the central East Sea, and until the early morning of the 10th, in the outer seas of the southern East Sea, so ships navigating or fishing should be especially careful.

In particular, from the morning of the 10th, very strong winds and very high waves will again occur in the outer seas of the central East Sea, and there is a possibility of a storm warning being issued. On the East Coast, high waves caused by swell will strongly hit the sandy beaches, and high waves may overflow breakwaters or coastal roads, so access to coastal areas should be avoided.

The morning temperature on the 11th will remain 3 to 10 degrees Celsius lower than the average (low -10 to 0°C, high 3 to 9°C), continuing the cold, but temperatures are expected to gradually rise from the afternoon and return to normal levels.
