Oh Sehoon: "Perfect Restoration of Korea-U.S. Relations Damaged by Moon"
Kim Dongyeon: "Yoon Set South Korean Diplomacy Back 30 Years"
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon expressed strong support for the diplomatic and security policies of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration.
On the morning of the 9th, Mayor Oh wrote on Facebook, "The leaders of the U.S. and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to the complete denuclearization of North Korea," adding, "This exactly aligns with the North Korea policy direction maintained by the Yoon administration." He continued, "President Yoon took political risks to restore Korea-Japan relations and perfectly restored the Korea-U.S. alliance that former President Moon Jae-in had damaged."

Mayor Oh also emphasized, "While taking responsibility for what must be accountable in the Yoon administration's governance, we must refine and develop the achievements more precisely," highlighting, "A prime example of a policy to be refined is the strong Korea-U.S.-Japan diplomatic and security cooperation."
He further expressed active support for President Yoon’s diplomatic policies. He said, "Although I immediately opposed the declaration of martial law, I have always actively supported and agreed with President Yoon’s diplomatic and security policies."
He sharply criticized the Democratic Party and its leader Lee Jae-myung’s foreign policies. Mayor Oh stated, "Even joint Korea-U.S.-Japan military exercises are disparaged as a 'defense disaster' or 'extreme pro-Japanese acts' by Lee Jae-myung’s Democratic Party, which is a stark contrast," adding, "Conservatives unite with allies to protect the Republic of Korea from the North Korean nuclear threat, but Lee Jae-myung’s Democratic Party casually swings left and right, using alliances as political battlegrounds as it suits them." He then questioned, "Who truly is the force that saves the Republic of Korea?"

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon directly criticized Mayor Oh Se-hoon’s claim that President Yoon Suk-yeol’s diplomacy was correct, saying, "If you really don’t know, it is ignorance; if you know and still turn a blind eye, it is deceiving the people."
On the 9th, Governor Kim posted on his social media, criticizing, "Saying Yoon Suk-yeol’s diplomacy was right is a blatant distortion." He evaluated, "The Yoon administration focused solely on 'subtractive diplomacy' throughout its term, voluntarily isolating itself on the international stage," and added, "Moreover, it is the very force that caused South Korean diplomacy to regress by 30 years due to internal strife."
He then questioned, "Our diplomatic assets are the K-brand and soft power," and challenged, "How can anyone defend the forces of internal strife that caused the K-brand, national prestige, and international credibility, built up while overcoming the COVID-19 crisis, to collapse overnight?"
