At this meeting, employees from 13 divisions and 24 teams attended to discuss the basic directions and strategies for discovering investment projects supported with up to 16 billion KRW, as well as key areas expected to show visible effects in improving local living conditions.
In particular, they shared the current status and enhancement plans of major ongoing fund projects, increased understanding of the 2026 fund system, evaluation criteria, and strategies to achieve excellent ratings, and explored ways to discover fund projects across various policy fields.
Nam Han-kwon, the county governor, stated, “We will promote projects that leverage Ulleung-gun’s unique regional characteristics and strengths to achieve continuous results in attracting residents and living population,” adding, “We will make every effort to secure the top-grade budget of 16 billion KRW.”
The Local Extinction Response Fund is a support measure distributed annually at a scale of 1 trillion KRW by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety since 2022. Last year, Ulleung-gun was selected as one of 16 excellent candidates among 89 local governments in population-declining areas.
