The campaign held on the 7th was carried out in collaboration with Gyeongsangnam-do Province, district offices, and the Korea Association of Certified Realtors by forming a publicity team. At the graduation ceremony venue, they distributed leaflets on "Precautions for Jeonse Contracts" and conducted joint promotions.
The city will continue its promotional activities linked to university graduation ceremonies, starting with Changwon Munsung University on the 7th, followed by △ Masan University on the 13th △ Changwon University and Changshin University on the 14th △ and Gyeongnam University on the 20th, to help young adults with little real estate contract experience avoid fraud, continuing from last year.
To prevent jeonse fraud, before signing a contract, it is essential to check whether the property is unauthorized or illegally constructed, verify the appropriate market price, confirm the priority rights, and check if the landlord has any tax arrears. When concluding the contract, it is mandatory to verify the landlord’s identity and confirm that the certified realtor is operating legitimately. Additionally, after the contract, it is essential to file a move-in report and subscribe to the jeonse deposit guarantee.
Park Hyun-ho, Director of the Urban Policy Bureau, stated, “Preventing jeonse fraud is far more important than post-incident measures,” and urged, “Citizens should carefully verify all details when signing jeonse contracts.”
