"Elderly and Disabled to Receive Passports at Home"... Seoul Jung-gu Starting This Year

Jung-gu (District Mayor Kim Gil-seong) announced on the 9th that it will operate a ‘Visiting Passport Delivery Service’ starting this year. As of January this year, there are 11,597 elderly residents aged 75 and over and 1,857 people with severe disabilities living in Jung-gu. The district office launched this project to reduce their inconvenience and provide more convenient administrative services.

The procedure is simple. When applying for a passport, if applicants fill out the ‘Visiting Passport Delivery Service’ application form, the responsible official will visit their home to deliver the issued passport. Since identity verification is done on-site and the passport is handed over immediately, all procedures are completed without any additional visits.

The district office plans to conduct a satisfaction survey targeting users in December this year. Based on the survey results, it will improve any issues found during the service operation to enable more residents to use the service conveniently.

District Mayor Kim Gil-seong said, “We expect the Visiting Passport Delivery Service to be a great help to the elderly and people with disabilities,” and added, “We will continue to develop necessary policies so that all residents can experience Jung-gu’s meticulous administrative services in their daily lives.”
