Park Yoonjae, First Korean Male Ballet Dancer to Win Lausanne Ballet Competition

16-year-old ballerino Park Yoon-jae (Seoul Arts High School) became the first Korean male dancer to win the Lausanne Ballet Competition in Switzerland.


On the 8th (local time), Park Yoon-jae took first place in the finals of the Lausanne Ballet Competition held in Lausanne, Switzerland. This is the first time a Korean ballerino has won the Lausanne Ballet Competition. Previously, ballerina Kang Sue-jin was the first Korean to win in 1985.


The Lausanne Ballet Competition is considered one of the world's top five ballet competitions, alongside Varna, Jackson, Moscow, and Paris competitions.
