Hana Financial Group announced on the 8th that it conducted volunteer activities for local small business owners together with the Myeongdong Merchants Association.
This volunteer activity, carried out to support small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn, involved about 100 employees and their families from the group. The activities included 'Creating Customized Happiness Boxes for Small Business Owners' and 'Street Environment Cleanup Jogging.'
First, employees and their families gathered in the main auditorium of the group’s Myeongdong office building to assemble customized happiness boxes containing essential items for small business establishments. These boxes were personally delivered to 100 stores near Myeongdong. The happiness boxes included essential business supplies shared in advance by the small business owners of the Myeongdong Merchants Association, such as ▲volume-based waste bags ▲cooking gloves ▲first aid kits ▲kitchen utensils, among others.
Additionally, a plogging activity?a combination of jogging and picking up litter?was conducted as an environmental protection effort to create a pleasant street commercial area. Employees and their families divided the densely populated Myeongdong commercial district into three zones and visited local small business establishments, collecting various types of trash into eco-friendly bags while cleaning the streets.
An employee who participated in the volunteer activity said, "Although the weather was cold, I feel proud to have been able to offer even a small help to the local small business owners. Moving forward, I will continue to participate in volunteer activities for nearby small business owners and stand together with the owners who are persevering through these difficult economic times."
