Amid heavy snow and cold waves in Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, the Ulleung-gun Sanitation Workers' Union rolled up their sleeves to support snow removal work on site.

From the morning of the 8th, about 30 union members visited vulnerable residential areas such as alleys where snow removal equipment could not be deployed within Ulleung-eup and carried out snow removal work.
They cleared frozen snow on side streets, thoroughly removing hazards that could occur due to ice formation while the elderly and children were walking.
In particular, they started from housing complexes where elderly people living alone with mobility difficulties reside, simultaneously removing frozen ground and snow at alley entrances, sweating with rewarding labor.
Resident Park (70) said, "I am very grateful that the sanitation workers, who always work hard day and night for a clean Ulleung, voluntarily took care of the snow removal as well."
Park Jin-eok, chairman of the Ulleung-gun Sanitation Workers' Union, expressed his thoughts, saying, "Not only snow removal in winter but also any volunteer work will not be refused wherever a helping hand is needed."
Established in April last year, the Ulleung-gun Sanitation Workers' Union has been putting all its efforts into establishing a sound labor-management culture, including signing its first collective bargaining agreement with the management, Ulleung-gun, in September of the same year.
