Actress Kim Bu-seon said on her YouTube channel that she "woke up suddenly in the middle of the night and shouted 'Oh yeah, oh yeah'" upon hearing the news of the court sentencing of Kim Yong, former deputy director of the Democratic Research Institute and close aide to Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Kim Bu-seon recently uploaded a video on her YouTube channel 'Kim Bu-seon TV' saying, "I saw the news of the 5-year court sentence of Kim Yong, Lee Jae-myung's closest aide." She continued, "On this cold day, on this snowy day, the trees I planted have all lost their leaves, but Kim Yong has gone to prison and Lee Jae-myung will have a difficult day," adding, "Heaven is fair. Heaven is just. They took Kim Yong away. I dreamed of a day like this. I have infinite respect and gratitude for the court."
Kim also directly mentioned Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea. She said, "Lee Jae-myung, now it's your turn four times over. Leading the people while deceiving the entire nation." Kim had a public dispute over the truth of a scandal with Lee. Last month, regarding this, she posted a video saying, "It happened a long time ago, he has a wife and children, and since it is a private matter, I think the leader can deny it," but also said, "Those daughters who deny it, please stop provoking me anymore."
Former deputy director Kim Yong was sentenced on the 6th to 5 years in prison, a fine of 70 million won, and a confiscation of 670 million won for violations of the Political Funds Act and bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, receiving the same sentence as in the first trial, and was taken into custody in court.
Kim is accused of conspiring with former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation director Yoo Dong-gyu and lawyer Jeong Min-yong to receive 847 million won in four installments from private businessman lawyer Nam Wook from April to August 2021, around the time of the party's presidential primary, under the pretext of presidential campaign funds. Of this, 600 million won was delivered to Kim, while the remaining 247 million won was not delivered to Kim by Yoo, according to investigations.
Kim is also accused of receiving a total of 190 million won in four installments from Yoo Dong-gyu between February 2013 and April 2014 while serving as a standing member of the Urban Construction Committee of the Seongnam City Council, in exchange for facilitating the establishment of the corporation and the Daejang-dong development project.
