The Nomination Management Committee of the People Power Party's Daejeon City Chapter announced on the 7th that it has selected Kang Hyungseok (25), the chapter's spokesperson, as its candidate for the by-election in District 2 of Yuseong-gu, Daejeon City Council, to be held on April 2.

The committee reviewed documents and conducted interviews with the three applicants for the nomination on this day, and decided that Kang's understanding of policy and communication skills would help break the mold of traditional politics and reflect the voices of the younger generation.

Lee Sangmin, chairperson of the nomination committee, said, "We have selected the most outstanding candidate through a fair and transparent evaluation," and added, "The People Power Party will take the lead to ensure victory in the by-election with Kang Hyungseok as our candidate."
