On the 7th, the court ruled that the recall vote of party members for the resignation of the Reform New Party leader is valid, while Representative Heo Eun-ah plans to immediately appeal to the High Court.
On the 7th, the Civil Division 51 of the Seoul Southern District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Woo-hyun) dismissed Heo's provisional injunction request seeking to suspend the effect of the party member recall vote against the Reform New Party.
The court viewed Heo's act of appointing a new Policy Committee Chair without dismissing Lee Joo-young and without going through the Supreme Council's resolution as invalid. Additionally, it judged that the Reform New Party Supreme Council's resolution on the 21st of last month to recall Heo by party members met both substantive and procedural requirements.
The Reform New Party has maintained a distorted structure with two major party officials each, as Heo did not acknowledge the results of the party member recall vote.
